Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has restated the government’s renewed commitment to reducing the cost of living through agricultural mechanisation, increased food production, expanded infrastructure and policies that ensure economic stability.
Governor Soludo made the pledge while speaking at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka during a ceremony to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The Governor commended the resilience of Nigerians over the past six decades and noted that despite historic challenges, the indomitable spirit of farmers, traders, teachers, entrepreneurs and security forces has sustained the nation through its most difficult periods.
He described the tough structural reforms implemented over the past three and a half years as necessary interventions to prevent systemic collapse.
Governor Soludo said the difficult decisions have steadied the economy and delivered over four percent growth this year.
According to him, the emergency phase of economic stabilisation has ended and the administration’s focus has now shifted to delivering shared and widespread prosperity for the people.
Correspondent Uche Ndeke reports that the Governor emphasised that the benefits of the reforms must translate into tangible improvements in the everyday lives of citizens.
