The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called on members of the public to take deliberate steps to care for their hearts as the world marks World Heart Day.
In a message released to mark the occasion, Dr Soludo stressed that the human heart works tirelessly every day and that people must make the conscious choice to work for it in return.
She emphasised that a healthy heart starts with consistent everyday habits such as eating better, remaining physically active, managing stress effectively, getting adequate rest, and attending routine health checks.
Dr Soludo, who is the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, urged citizens to take care of their hearts , noting that a healthier heart ultimately translates to a healthier life.
World Heart Day is observed annually on 29 September to raise global awareness about cardiovascular diseases, which remain a leading cause of death worldwide, and to promote lifestyle changes that protect heart health.
