The Police Command in Anambra State has confirmed the death of one person during the demolition of a building in Otolo-Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the incident occurred when a section of an old structure under demolition suddenly collapsed and trapped one of the workers, identified as Bakeru Iwal, a 25-year-old male.
According to the statement operatives from the Otolo Divisional Headquarters responded promptly to the scene, cordoned off the area, and commenced preliminary investigations.
