All is set for the visit of the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu to Anambra State tomorrow on Thursday September, 10, 2026.
It is the first official visit of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Anambra State since she assumed office.
According to one of the Media Aides to the Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Daniel Ezeigwe, the visit is expected to strengthen the existing partnership between the Federal and Anambra State government in advancing programmes targeted at poverty reduction, economic empowerment for women, food security and improved livelihood for vulnerable citizens.
He said that a major highlight of the visit will be the empowerment of 5,000 people under the Progressives United Against Poverty Initiative, a partnership championed by the Anambra State Government in support of the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Support Scheme
A stakeholder in Awka, Ozor Obi Ochije described the visit as right step that will go a long way to liberate thousands of people out of poverty index.
Another resident of Awka, Mrs Eukaria Onyemaobi said though the programmes proposed to be launched during the visit were commendable, there should be a concrete plan to sustain them
Meanwhile Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka the venue where the event is scheduled to hold is wearing a new look with billboards and banners bearing different messages of welcome to the first Lady.
