The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command, has taken its road safety campaign to the grassroots with a special outreach to a pentecostal Church in Eziowelle.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, led the team to the church on Sunday, June 28, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce road traffic crashes across the state.
Addressing the congregation on the topic “Getting to your Destination Safely is in your Hands,” Corps Commander Asekhauno stressed that road crashes are caused by human actions and not by spiritual forces.
She urged motorists to always secure children in the back seat, avoid the use of mobile phones while driving, and refrain from overloading vehicles.
She also called on worshippers to obey all traffic laws and regulations, pay attention to road signs and markings, and share road safety messages within their communities.
According to a Press Statement by the Sector Public Education Office , SRC Margaret Onabe, the outreach featured the distribution of safety flyers and interactive sessions with members of the church, with about one thousand worshippers in attendance.
The General Overseer of the Church, Arch Bishop Dr. Onyekachukwu Nzekwesi, commended the FRSC for the timely enlightenment programme.
He urged the congregation to put the safety messages into practice and prayed for God’s protection over the Sector Commander and her team.
The FRSC Anambra State Command reaffirmed its commitment to promoting road safety consciousness among all road users and called on the public to always prioritise safety on the highways.
