Operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit, VCRU, Anambra state Police Command have arrested seventeen cult suspects in Awka.
The suspects, all males, were picked up in the early hours of today (Sunday)in a hideout following credible intelligence.
Items recovered from the scene of their arrest include dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, containers of petroleum jelly, condoms, and other incriminating exhibits.
Preliminary investigation by the police reveals that the suspects are allegedly members of the Vikings Confraternity, also known as “Bagger”.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State Tochukwu Ikenga notes that the suspects are also being questioned over alleged immoral activities at the location.
