The Medical Doctor abducted on Thursday last week in his facility in Nkpor , Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State Doctor Eddy Emegakor has been rescued.
He was rescued unharmed from his captors with the help of security operatives.
The Secretary of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, in Anambra State Ifeanyi Obiaeli who broke the news of his rescue ,said that Dr Emegoakor is hale, hearty, in good spirit.and has reunited with his family.
He said that NMA received the news of the rescue of Dr Emegoakor while they were in a news briefing at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital,Awka.
The Nigeria Medical Association in Anambra State had yesterday given the government a 48 hour ultimatum to ensure the rescue of Dr Emegoakor from his abductors or face industrial action.
