Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated a community hospital in Abba, Njikoka Local Government Area, under the Public-Private-Community Partnership, PPCP, model to strengthen healthcare in the community.

The hospital, named St. Ann’s Hospital and Maternity, was constructed by Doctor Josephine Akpua and her family in honour of her late husband, Chief Samuel Akpua.

The facility is equipped to provide maternal and general healthcare services to residents of Abba and surrounding communities.

At the ceremony, Governor Soludo commended Doctor and Mrs Josephine Akpua for their generosity and described the facility as a model of how private citizens can complement government efforts in social infrastructure.

He urged wealthy indigenes of the state to partner his government in driving development across Anambra State.

Governor Soludo further noted that the PPCP model has become a key pillar of his administration’s approach to expanding access to quality healthcare, education, and other public services without placing the entire burden on the state government.

He reiterated that sustainable development requires collective responsibility from both the public and private sectors.

Corresponsent Ben Ilechukwu reports that the Hospital was donated to St Paul Catholic Church, Abba of Catholic Diocese of Awka.
