The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze, has congratulated Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs by President Bola Tinubu.
In a goodwill message, Mr Udeze, described the appointment as well deserved and in line with expectations, noting that Ambassador Odumegwu Ojukwu possesses the requisite training, experience and competence to effectively discharge her duties.
The Speaker expressed confidence that her vast experience in political and public affairs would enable her to bring commitment, zeal and professionalism to the management of Nigeria’s foreign relations.
He recalled her remarkable tenure as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, saying her service projected a positive image of the country in the international community.
Mr Somtochukwu Udeze also commended President Tinubu for what he described as placing a round peg in a round hole through the appointment of Ambassador Odumegwu Ojukwu to oversee Nigeria’s foreign policy and international partnerships.
According to the Speaker, the former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs has continued to make Anambra State proud through her dedication to national service.
He, however, called on Nigerians to support Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu in her new assignment to enable her succeed in advancing the nation’s diplomatic interests.
