Anambra State Government has urged Corps members posted to the state to contribute their skills and energy to national integration as well as bring fresh ideas and skills to communities across the state.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo made the call at the swearing in ceremony for the Batch A stream 2 Orientation Course at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Unity Orientation camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu.

Governor Soludo who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youths Development Mr Ifeatu Emordi commended the Corps members for their willingness to live and work in communities different from theirs.

According to the Governor, the Anambra State Government has put in place measures to protect and support Corps members throughout their orientation and subsequent service.

For her part, the state coordinator National Youth Service Corps Anambra State, Mrs Pauline Ojisua advised the Corps members to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of their families, institutions and the nation at large.

Mrs Ojisua noted that the three weeks Orientation programme was aimed at fostering discipline, patriotism, team work which are essential competencies for nation building..

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth Development and Chairman NYSC Governing Board, represented by the Director Ministry of Youths Development, Mr Martin Ezeilo enjoined the corps members to participate actively in all camp activities , respect authorities and build friendships that transend cultural and ethnic boundaries.

Some corps members who spoke with Radio Nigeria Daniel Awosika from Ondo State and Oprah Kingsley- Yaki from Cross River State expressed the hope that they will enjoy a peaceful and productive year in Anambra State.
