The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Abia state chapter has called on politicians in the state to shun any form of bitter politics capable of degenerate to chaos and civil unrest as 2027 general elections gathers moment in the state.
Speaking to Newsmen in Umuahia, the Publicity Secretary of the association, Mr Godwin Adindu explained that the Socio-cultural group seeks for the peace, security and progress of the Igbo nation.
Mr Adindu noted that the wave of verbal violence in the cyberspace necessitated the call on politicians in the state irrespective political background to shun any form of insults, mudslinging, smear campaigns of calumny and outright blackmail.
According to him, the Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide in the state will not tolerate anything capable of destroying the state in the name of politics and stressed that political struggle should only aimed to build and not to destroy.
The Publicity Secretary further said that the Igbo apex body shows interest in the socioeconomic and political interests of the people with intention to stimulate and advance the development matrix of Ndigbo Worldwide.
While noting that the association is non-sectarian global Igbo Organization for the advancement, protection and defence of Ndigbo, Mr Adindu pointed out the Abia chapter was concerned about good governance, good leadership, security of life and enabling environment for Ndigbo.
