Holy week in the Christendom is usually associated with solemn and spiritual activities depicting events leading to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Holy week commences with Palm Sunday, leading to Maundy Thursday and Crucifixion of Christ on Good Friday.

This week is usually described as very significant in the lives of christians and sustainability of the church.

A Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Tochukwu Arinze of Catholic Diocese of Awka explained that the Holy week is an important reminder that even in the moment of pains there is purpose and hope.

He stressed the need for them to emulate Jesus Christ in their actions, noting that the cross of Calvary remains a turning point in their spiritual growth.

The Reverend Father Tochukwu Arinze advised christians to remain patient, prayerful and trust that better days are ahead.

He noted that the significance of the Holy week is the paschal triduum which are Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday .

He urged christians to stay close in prayers to reflect with open hearts and remember that after every cross, there is resurrection.
