A 35-year-old man, Chukwudalu Ezeani has been arrested by the police in Anambra State, for the killing of his cousin Chinedu Ezeani.

A Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer ,Mr Tochukwu Ikenga reveals the the State Criminal Investigation Department, made the breakthrough eight months after the victim was declared missing.

According to the the statement , the suspect allegedly murdered his cousin on August one last year at his residence in Afube Village, Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area.

He then buried the body in a shallow grave inside his compound in a bid to conceal the crime.

The case was initially reported as a missing person incident at Amichi Police Station, but fresh intelligence led detectives to reopen the matter, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

During interrogation, Chukwudalu Ezeani confessed to the killing and led operatives to the burial site within his compound, where the corpse was exhumed.

Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been deposited at a mortuary for forensic examination, while the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations into incident are concluded.
