Though the Ei-del fitr celebration has come and gone, the
socio- economic activities remained almost the same withn Awka the Anambra state capital as Muslim faithful in the area joined their counterpart across the globe for Eid el Fitri celebration.
A visit round the city shows that the faithful had a full blast celebration as they were seen adorned in different attires.
At the Eke Awka Market axis where most of them sell and repair wrist watches and other jewelleries, they were seen in their various shops making merry while they still attend to customers at intervals.
One of the faithful, Alhaji Muhamadu Salidu thanked Almighty Allah for keeping them alive to witness the celebration.
He also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for providing an enabling environment which has guaranteed steady business and safe atmosphere for them to share Love with residents of the state.
At the Keneth Dike Park axis, the Muslim brothers were seen having a hair cut, eating together and exchanging pleasantries with their Christian friends.
Another Muslim faithful, Iliyasu Abdulahi remarked that there was no rush or hike in prices before and during the festive period as customer flow remained relatively the same.
Radio Nigeria correspondent Uche Ndeke reports that muslim children were not left out of the Eid-El-Fitr as they were seen also dressed in their festive attires along the major streets in Awka.
