The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra Sector Command, has intensified efforts to reduce road traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities across the state by ten percent through sustained public enlightenment and community engagement.
As part of this initiative, the Command hosted a Church advocacy programme at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,Umudim, Nnewi , where it engaged worshippers on critical road safety practices.
Addressing the congregation, the Anambra Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekauno, emphasized the importance of pedestrian safety, the consistent use of crash helmets, and strict adherence to traffic regulations.
The Anambra State FRSC boss, warned against overloading, mixed loading, driving against traffic, underaged driving, over speeding, and other forms of dangerous driving.
Corps Commander Asekauno urged motorists especially commercial drivers, motorcyclists, and pedestrians to adopt a safer road culture and serve as ambassadors of road safety within their communities.
She stressed that ensuring safer roads was a shared responsibility.
The programme featured distribution of road safety flyers and awareness materials to reinforce the key messages delivered during the service.
The officiating priest, Reverend Father Daniel Ileka, expressed appreciation to the FRSC team for the impactful visit.
He offered prayers for the Corps and pledged the church’s continued support in promoting road safety awareness among its members
